Let the (hungarian) Show begin!

5 teams will meet this sunday to mark history: The first FlagFootball-tournament in Hungary ever. We take a closer look....

And here it is: Science Bowl I

 

The highly awaited first international FLS-gameday ever will be a special one: It provides a big chance for the one and only hungarian Team - the ELTE Scientists - to present the sport to their local audience and to attract new players for not only their team but also to help to establish other teams as well.

The time is right for FlagFootball in Hungary to develop - so be it!

 

The Scientists will try everything to make this a success, on the field but also off the field. And the FLS is lucky that more and more hungarian Referees are into "our" Football-Game as well. 5 of them will provide official support for the gameday - a big THANK YOU to them!

 

But we are not finished: There is whisper of a Cheerleader-Group performing, a catering crew is on hand and there should be a good crowd as well: Up to now 89 people agreed to come via facebook (http://www.facebook.com/saints.flagfootball#!/events/234207020034671/), 61 more did accept tentatively.

 

But lets go back to the Teams. Who is playing?

 

SCI – ELTE Scientits

In their most important gameday in Club history so far the Scientists will do all they can to come out with a victory. This might be almost impossible due to heavy competiton from the Beach Boys but to make the finals should be in reach.

 

VFB - Vienna FlagBulls

The FlagBulls did much better this season and developed into a Playoff-team and will participate in the FLS-Bowl-Day in Salzburg. As one of the most active teams of the FLS they indeed deserve it! As for sunday the FlagBulls will be having a hard time to win a game, but they will at least make one or the other very intersting to watch!

 

 

BRU - Prater Bruins

Welcome the champion of the FLS East! The Bruins are the most active team in the FLS (28 games so far!) and had ups and downs this season but could establish themselves on top of the Division. They start to establish themselves to be a very good team even without their star-player Michael Terzer who will not be playing this sunday. They may nevertheless battle for a spot in the finals-game.

 

MAN - Manticores

The Team from Vienna is also already qualified for the FLS-Bowl-day but nevertheless took the chance to participate at ScienceBowl. Led by 3 players from the Austrian FLA2 (2nd Division), they seem to emerge as a constant player in this league and might be due for some surprises. They won´t beat the Beach Boys but everything else is defenitely possible.

 

BBO - Lignano Beach Boys

The big favourite to win Science-Bowl I comes (mainly) from Styria, with some input from Vienna. This team is a puzzle of different teams from the FLA with some newbies as well. They basically know that their level of play and expertise will exceed the other teams but they are not here to "destroy", they are here to just play FlagFootball and have fun. And of course to honor the efforts of the hosting Team. Nevertheless they are the team to beat on sunday!

 

On sunday history will be made. If you are in Budapest or anywhere near: Please make a trip to Science Bowl I - you will not regret it!
